9^th European Colposcopy Congress 8-11.6.2022

Organized by the European Federation for Colposcopy and the Finnish Colposcopy Society

Dear National Colposcopy Societies and EFC members,

The European Federation for Colposcopy (EFC) together with The Finnish Colposcopy Society will arrange the 9^th European Colposcopy Congress this year, 8^th-11^th June 2022 in Helsinki, Finland.

Sadly, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the Congress will only be online.  This is a great disappointment, but the alternatives are too risky, from a financial point of view.

However, the wonderful, three parallel session programme will remain the same and we can execute it using a very user-friendly platform and online streaming.  We had a technically similar virtual EFC Advanced Course and Satellite meeting in May 2021, as many of you will remember, and it worked really well.

I hope that all National Colposcopy Societies will accept this change and that you are still willing to participate in this congress. I think we are able to provide scientifically as high-quality service for the audience and participants as with a conventional Congress. Of course, we will miss most of the social benefits, but we are left with no choice.

This virtual Congress will have pre-recorded presentations, so as to avoid technical, e.g., internet problems and facilitate timekeeping. During the Congress, after showing the pre-recorded presentations, there will be an interactive session discussion where the chairs and speakers can discuss their presentations and answer questions, also from the audience, which have been received through the chat-app.  One of the chairs will moderate these questions during each session. All the participants and delegates will get thorough instructions on how to join the congress.

We sincerely wish that you all are still willing to join our Congress in June!

We would be also extremely grateful, if you all could actively promote and advertise this Congress among your colleagues in your hospitals, societies, areas and countries. We want to have a big audience to enjoy this meeting.  The registration is already open on EFC’s website www.efcolposcopy.eu . The registration fee remains the same because the scientific content is unchanged.  Of course, all the participants will save some money because no travelling and accommodation is needed.

We also encourage you and your fellows and research groups to send abstracts to the Congress. The best one will be awarded with prof. Ulli Petry prize and many of the abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Guidelines for Abstracts are published on the same website.
